Welcome to Keuka Cottage

A century-old family lake house filled with charm, sunlight, and summer memories.

Welcome

Welcome to our family cottage on Keuka Lake - a cozy summer home that has been in our family since 1923. Built by our great-grandmother, it has been lovingly passed down through four generations.

It’s simple, bright, and full of heart -a place where mornings start slow, towels dry on the deck railing, puzzles take over the porch table, and kids run in and out of the lake until dinner.

We hope you settle in, breathe deep, unplug, and enjoy the lake the way our family has for nearly 100 years.

Garbage & Recycling

We try to keep things simple up here on the lake. Trash and recycling are picked up early on Tuesday mornings.

When you arrive, you’ll see the large bins up at the top of the road.
After pickup, feel free to wheel them back down and keep them by the shed so they’re easy to access during your stay.

There’s also a recycling bin right outside the porch door - perfect for bottles, cans, and cardboard. When it’s full, just bring it up to the larger blue bin by the shed.

When you’re heading out, please roll both bins back up to the top of the hill so they’re ready for Tuesday morning pickup.

eating & sleeping

get outside

From spontaneous games of tag on the grass to long, lazy afternoons floating in the lake, these are the moments that make Keuka feel like a world of its own.

Front Patio & Lawn

The front patio faces the cottage’s big sloping lawn - a great spot for lawn games, picnic blankets, or simply watching the occasional neighbor stroll by. Lawn games and outdoor toys are stored in the shed, so feel free to pull out cornhole, bocce, or whatever inspires a little friendly competition.

And yes, you’ll catch some amazing rainbows from this spot!

Upper Lakeview Deck

Perched up in the trees with a postcard-worthy view of Keuka Lake, the upper deck is where hours magically disappear. Whether you’re sipping morning coffee, sharing a slow lunch, or settling in for golden-hour lounging, this space is made for unwinding. Comfortable cushioned seating, a large outdoor dining table, and dappled sunlight through the branches make it the perfect hangout spot from sunrise to sunset.

Whether you’re seeking quiet reflection or joyful interruption, the dock is where it all happens. Stretch out with a book, cast a fishing line, jump in for a swim - or, like Gio, confidently insert yourself between cousins mid-relaxation. As the sun sets and the lake glows, you’ll understand why everyone eventually falls silent… at least until someone cannonballs in.

Bringing your own boat? You’re welcome to tie up on the left side of the dock - it can comfortably accommodate boats up to 21 feet.

Lakefront Dock

Boating & Kayaking & S’mores

We provide kayaks, paddles, a paddleboard, tubes, a pump for inflatables, and life vests & water shoes in a range of sizes. They are all stored in the boathouse just off the deck with easy access to the lake. Before using the water shoes, we recommend giving them a quick rinse - occasionally little friends like to make cozy homes in unexpected places!

For kayaks and paddleboards, a life vest and a whistle or other sound-producing device is required and very helpful for signaling on the water - we’ve provided whistles near the boathouse for your use.

The lakefront fire pit sits near the water ready for roasting marshmallows and long chats. Please keep it near the water for safety!

Fishing On & Off the Dock

Fishing off the dock is a favorite here - perfect for kids, beginners, and anyone chasing that “just one more cast” moment. The lake is home to bass and bluegill and perch and pumpkinseeds and anything in between, making it a fun spot to reel something in.

A classic dock catch often turns into a photo op. Pro tip: please handle in a fish-friendly way like Uncle PJ - Gio’s fish manners are still loading.

Bring your poles, enjoy the quiet (or the excitement), and don’t forget to snap a photo so we can keep the photo gallery up to date!

Over 16? Check out this LINK for details on fish licenses.

Departure Checklist:

Inside The Cottage

  • Used sheets & towels: Place all used linens inside pillowcases in the living room or in a laundry basket. If towels are wet, please hang them on hooks in the bathroom or bunk room.

  • Kitchen: Remove all food from the refrigerator (condiments are fine to leave). Wipe down shelves if anything spilled.

  • Keys: Return the single key behind the sailboat. Any extra keys can be left on the peg in the kitchen.

We hope you had a wonderful stay at our family cottage. Because we often have quick turnovers between guests, these few steps make a big difference and are deeply appreciated.

  • Supplies: If you used the last of anything (ex: toilet paper, paper towels, propane), let us know.

Outside The Cottage

  • Grill: If you used the grill, please wipe it down after your final use

  • Propane: If you used the last of a propane tank, just let us know so we can replace it

  • Garbage & Recycling: Please roll all garbage and recycling bins back up to the top of the hill/road where you found them (if you are physically unable, it’s no problem, just let us know!)

If You Brought a Pet

  • Vacuum: Vacuum carpets if needed (vacuum is in the bunkbed room closet)

  • Check Around Inside & Outside of Cottage: Please check corners, rugs, and furniture for pet hair and other “deposits”!

General

If you have any questions during your stay - or if something needs attention - please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re happy to help and want your time at the cottage to be easy and relaxing.
